Setting
Crystal Springs Campground sits on the shores of Lake Ouachita within the Ouachita Mountains, 10 miles west of Hot Springs National Park. The park has 63 campsites with electric and water hookups, a reservable group site, and two electric group shelters. Facilities include hot showers, a dump station, a fish cleaning station, a boat ramp, a playground, and a swim beach. The 40,000-acre spring-fed lake is known for high clarity, clear-water scuba diving, and striped bass fishing, with the 223-mile Ouachita National Recreation Trail passing just to the north.
Getting there: From Hot Springs, Arkansas, take US 270 west about 15.4 miles to North Crystal Springs Road. Turn right and follow access road three miles north to the park.
