Setting
Merrisach Lake Campground sits in the bottomland forest of eastern Arkansas along the Arkansas Post Canal and Merrisach Lake. The park offers water and electric hookups at most sites, hot showers, a dump station, a playground, a boat ramp, and two 75-guest group picnic shelters. Anglers target catfish and bass in the lake and tailwaters of the Wilbur D. Mills Dam. The site sits on the Mississippi Flyway, providing access for birdwatching and waterfowl hunting.
Getting there: From DeWitt, Arkansas, take US-165 south for 8.1 miles to State Route 44. Turn east for 5.3 miles and continue south onto Tichnor Blacktop Rd. After 10 miles, turn right onto Merrisach Lake Lane and continue into the park.
